Six Star operate a reduced Support service for the holiday season.
What does this mean?
We will only be servicing Business Critical and Urgent issues during the Christmas fortnight.
A Business Critical issue is anything that is revenue impacting, whilst an Urgent issue is something that has a meaningful impact on you being able to do your job.
To give you an idea of something we would consider urgent, two examples would be:
- A Reception PC or printer not working
- Unable to log into your computer/email account.
Any other non-urgent or Business Critical issues will be addressed from 2nd January.
HOW DO I GET SUPPORT OVER CHRISTMAS?
If your issue is not Urgent or Business Critical, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org . You will receive a ticket number and your issue will be addressed from 2nd January.
If your issue IS Urgent or Business Critical, please call us on the usual number. If after 60 seconds your call hasn't been answered you be invited to leave a voicemail. If you leave a voicemail and your issue is Urgent or Business Critical, you will receive a callback within 15 minutes. If you do not leave a voicemail, your call will be deemed non-urgent and there will be no callback.
WHY does six star do this?
Six Star is proud of our engineers, and administrators, and the work they do 24/7 throughout the year in order to maintain hotel systems and services. As a reward for their hard work, and as a thank you, we offer them the opportunity to take light duties for the Christmas fortnight.
This allows them to do their Christmas shopping, visit family and friends during this special time of year, and catch up on those little work tasks that they have kept pushing back as more important tasks take priority.
Why at christmas?
Hotels are operationally busy for much of the year, however we have discovered that the areas of the business that traditionally raise the most support requests throughout the year, are those that are computer based (HR, Revenue, Reservations etc). At Christmas, these departments handle less workload, and in a lot of cases the staff from these departments are redeployed into M&E operations. As such, the demand for non-urgent support is naturally lower than any other time of year.
